A year at our school

Each year, our students proudly participate in the Southern Stars festival, showcasing their talents in a vibrant celebration of music and performance. This annual event provides a unique opportunity for students to collaborate with peers from across the region, develop their skills, and gain confidence on a professional stage. Through dedicated rehearsals and teamwork, our students not only enhance their artistic abilities but also build lasting friendships and a strong sense of community. Participation in Southern Stars is a highlight of our school calendar, reflecting our commitment to fostering creativity, collaboration, and excellence in the arts.

Our school actively supports student wellbeing through a range of initiatives, including The Resilience Project lessons, which focus on building resilience through the key principles of gratitude, empathy, mindfulness and emotional intelligence. These lessons are reinforced by daily wellbeing habits that encourage students to reflect, connect, and care for themselves and others. In addition, we participate in regular wellbeing events, promoting a positive school culture and providing opportunities for students to engage in activities that support their mental, emotional and social health. Together, these efforts help create a supportive and nurturing environment where all students can thrive.

Each year, our school has teams from Years 5 and 6 participate in the Tournament of Minds (TOM), an Australian program designed to inspire talented and creative students. TOM fosters enthusiasm for experimentation, problem-solving, and teamwork, promoting intellectual excellence and originality. The program aims to nurture students’ gifts by valuing creativity and collaboration, preparing them to tackle real-world challenges together.
